Have you recently purchased a "fixer-upper" house? Are you currently planning out how you're going to go about fixing up the house so that you can either rent it out or move into it yourself? When houses need to be fixed up, a lot of planning and work needs to go into the process, as you're undoubtedly discovering. But while you're busy picking out new paint colors and bathroom fixtures, you may be inadvertently neglecting an important part of the remodeling process: getting rid of the excess waste. Although you could take some of the stuff to the dump yourself, this might not be the best option. Instead, you should consider renting a dumpster for the waste. There are several reasons for this, some of which include the following.
Easier disposal
When you're pulling out old carpets or replacing cabinets, you're going to wind up with some very large pieces of waste. These things may not fit well, or at all, into the bed of a standard pickup truck. Renting a large box truck could potentially be an option, but then you'd have to worry about cleaning it out afterward and all of the hassles that go along with such a rental. But there's no need to go to such trouble when you can have a dumpster rental dropped off right outside your door.
Less expensive
Looking at just the cost of a dumpster rental, it's easy to think that you could do the job more cheaply. However, you have to figure in things like dump fees that may be both per load and per pound, gas to get back and forth, your time spent, and the potential cost of renting a suitable vehicle. Once you add everything up, renting a dumpster can turn out to be substantially less expensive in the long run.
Tidier yard
Without a dumpster rental, the construction waste will have to go somewhere until you can take it to the dump. Since you may only be able to get to the dump once or twice a month, depending on your schedule and the dump's operating hours, the accumulating trash can make a substantial pile. This pile of trash can attract various rodent or insect pests. If your yard is unfenced or minimally fenced, neighborhood children could see the pile and be tempted to play on it and to look for things that they think are interesting. Having a dumpster means that everything will be neatly out of sight and kept out of reach of most pests and neighborhood children.
